Dr. Keele is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with a career spanning the United Nations System, academia, pharmaceutical consultancy and the pharmaceutical industry where he is currently a Director of Corporate Affairs at Kiara Health. He is an ardent proponent of local production of pharmaceuticals on the African continent. Dr. Keele played a key role in facilitating access to markets on behalf of African based pharmaceutical companies. He was a leading part of a delegation of the Federation of African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations (FAPMA) that met with The Global Fund in Geneva to secure a deal for procurement of pharmaceuticals from African based pharmaceutical companies for their donor funded programmes.He was also appointed into a Technical Review Committee of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) that investigated the feasibility of regional production of pharmaceuticals within SADC.Dr. Keele is a sought-after speaker and a published author who is involved in applied research into industrial pharmacy in South Africa. He holds an Honorary Lecturer appointment from a premier African University, the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr. Keele is currently a President of the South African Association of Pharmacists in Industry and a Vice-President of thePharmaceutical Society of South Africa.
