The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is pleased to sponsor the second edition of the CPhI Middle East & Africa Exhibition, the only event in the region dedicated to pharmaceutical manufacturing which is due to be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital the UAE, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 16-18 September 2019.

On this occasion, His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, the Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber expressed the importance of this event to the pharmaceutical industry in the UAE and how it will further support the private sector in Abu Dhabi by connecting pharmaceutical companies in the UAE and region.

“It is a pioneering business platform for the pharmaceutical industry which promotes the thriving and competitive pharmaceutical markets of the MENA region, he said.

“The manufacturing of medicinal drugs requires innovative operational and quality control methods to yield high quality medicines at lower costs. This can then lead to the creation of an attractive investment environment for business people and investors alike. This can increase local and foreign direct investment in the UAE creating new market opportunities for the private sector contributing to economic growth.”

The Director General added, “Abu Dhabi’s 2030 economic vision clearly set out Abu Dhabi’s interest in expanding the pharmaceutical industry in the Emirate over 10 years ago. Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a whole has significantly grown in this field since then with an estimated market value of 21.74 billion AED by 2025. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the Abu Dhabi economy in line with the diversification planned in the 2030 Economic Vision.”

 “The exhibition with bring together companies and specialists from various parts of the world presenting best practices and experiences which will create further opportunities in manufacturing and investment for the private sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Expansions in domestic medicinal production may also significantly increase the pharmaceutical exports market catering to the increasing demand of medicines in the MENA region which will further position Abu Dhabi as a leader in this field.” Al Mheiri concluded.
