Exhibition code of conduct

At CPHI, our mission is to help forge connections across the entire Pharma value chain.

 

To do this, we’re committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment across our global portfolio of events and online communities. This means providing a friendly, safe and respectful environment for all, regardless of race, colour, gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion.

 

Here you’ll find the Code of Conduct, which we ask all exhibition participants to comply with across all of our events, including related social activities, to ensure a successful, safe and enjoyable event for all.

Expected behaviour

Expected behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

  • Being considerate, respectful, and collaborative
  • Being mindful of your surroundings and your fellow participants, and the impact your actions might have
  • Alerting organisers if you notice an inappropriate or dangerous situation or someone in distress

Unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviours and materials, whether intentional or not, include but are not limited to:

  • Materials, printed, displayed or otherwise shared by any attendees of the event or event-related activities, that are intimidating, harassing, abusive, derogatory or demeaning, including those that relate to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or any other protected characteristic
  • Physical harassment, abuse or intimidation, including threats, annoyance, stalking or following, pushing, shoving or use of any physical force whatsoever against any person, which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous, or creates apprehension in a person
  • Verbal harassment, abuse and intimidation, threats or offensive comments; sustained disruption (whether verbal or otherwise) of talks or other events
  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides)
  • Wearing clothing that is not suitable for a professional work environment, the local culture, or that is provocative, or otherwise potentially or intentionally offensive
  • Possession of any item with intent to be used to threaten, intimidate, or as a weapon
  • Possessing any open can, bottle or other receptacle containing any alcoholic beverages, except in areas specifically designated for the consumption of alcohol
  • Possession or consumption of any illegal substance, or consumption of any substance, whether legal or not, that might impair the correct performance of an activity, or impact the safety of the participant or others
  • Smoking – other than in designated areas
  • Assembling for the purpose of, or resulting in, disturbing the peace
  • Committing any other unlawful act, such as giving, demanding or accepting bribes
  • Failure to obey any rules or regulations of the Venue or organiser, including those relating to health, health and safety

Consequences of unacceptable behaviour

  • Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated whether by attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, organisers, venue staff, sponsors, or exhibitors. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately
  • If a participant engages in unacceptable behaviour, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the event without warning or refund, and contacting the authorities as necessary. The participant may also be denied access to future events

What to do if you witness or are subjected to unacceptable behaviour

  • In any emergency, please call the emergency services immediately. Then contact your nearest security guard or organiser
  • If you are subjected to unacceptable behaviour, observe that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please notify organiser staff as soon as possible
  • Organiser staff will be available to help participants to contact venue security, or otherwise assist those experiencing unacceptable behaviour to feel safe for the duration of the event. You can report unacceptable behaviour to any member of staff
