A genuine oversight by IEML regarding venue availability had compelled us to change the dates of our show from November to December. The expo will now be held from 12th to 14th December, 2018 at the IEML.

With a new venue & as promised in your communication regarding ample space availability, are you going to allot more space?

Increase in booth space will depend on space availability since we have to accommodate both BEC and BKC exhibitors. Once allocation of all existing exhibitors is done we can increase stand sizes depending on space availability. Preferred stand size can be mentioned on the contract form.

Why is CPhI P-MEC India 2018 shifting from Mumbai to Greater Noida?

As you all are witness of the chaos occurred during 2017 event in Mumbai, wherein due to extreme traffic conditions outside the NESCO venue, senior most Traffic Police Officer (Jt. Commissioner of Police – Mr. Amitesh Kumar) had to step in and as instructed by the authorities we had to reschedule the exhibition opening and closing hours. Due to Metro Project work outside NESCO complex the roads have narrowed and considering the pace & expanse of this work which is expected to continue till 2020, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Mumbai has laid down new set of rules with regard to holding exhibitions at NESCO. In accordance with the new rule, (i) no permissions will be given to exhibitions which need to
occupy more than 50% of the gross space available at NESCO as the same causes traffic chaos in the entire city of Mumbai (ii) No temporary structures would be allowed at NESCO as the available open space should be used for vehicle parking purpose only. Also the MMRDA Grounds at BKC might be used as yards for the upcoming bullet train project and thus the authorities are not taking bookings for big expo’s at MMRDA grounds. As an effect of the above mentioned, to safeguard interest of all stakeholders, UBM decided to shift the exhibition to IEML, Greater Noida which at present has the best infrastructure to cater to exhibitions.

Why have you introduced Product zones in 2018?

From this year onwards CPhI P-MEC India will follow the zoning layout that shall offer - better visibility, streamlined traffic & more time for business!

CPhI 2018 edition will showcase zones such as API, FDF, Excipients, Fine Chemicals, Natural Extracts & Country Pavilions. And P-MEC 2018 will have P-MEC (Pharma Machinery), InnoPack, Lab-Analytical & Clean Rooms. The zoning format gathers businesses from a given sector of the pharmaceutical industry together in one area, raising the profile of that sector and showcasing its distinct qualities. And more than everything gives our exhibitors an access to the right buyers.

Why don’t you move the event to the South since the pharma industry is located in West and South of India?

For an event of the size of CPhI/PMEC the only venue in India with a suitable size is IEML in Noida. The total gross space required for us to hold our exhibition is approx 100,000 sqm gross and currently no other venue in India can offer us this space. We had considered venues in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. But unfortunately all of them could not provide us with the required space. As you must remember, even in Mumbai we had to split the event in two venues BEC, Goregaon and MMRDA, BKC as one single venue in Mumbai could not be sufficient for us to hold CPhI/PMEC event.

On what parameters were the booths been allocated?

We have introduced Allocation Points Process for CPhI P-MEC India 2018. Allocating stand locations at CPhI PMEC India is based on the amount of Allocation Points an exhibiting company has. The more Allocation Points a company has, higher the ranking and thus more stand options available for you. Allocation Points are earned on 3 parameters: Loyalty (No. of years of participation), Expenditure and Stand/space size. Allocation points accumulate retroactively, this means points earned in prior years are retained and added to an exhibiting company’s current allocation points status.
Note: These points are used for the onsite rebook schedule and will influence your time slot to book your stand onsite for the next edition.

How are you going to ensure the visitors attendance at the new venue?

Our marketing strategies will be aligned with current scenario of venue change and the marketing plan will be much more comprehensive. So far we have received a very good response from exhibitors and visitors and look forward to deliver a successful event in 2018.

Does this event have a mobile event app?
