  • Take advantage of our tips to get around Franfurt with ease
  • Frankfurt public transportation makes it easy to navigate while being cheaper and greener
  • S-Uahn & U-Bahn

    Longer distances become easy

The U-Bahn (subway) is the fastest way to travel within Frankfurt, covering most city districts with frequent service. The S-Bahn (commuter train) connects Frankfurt with nearby towns, the airport (S8 & S9), and surrounding regions, making it ideal for longer distances or travel outside the city center. Both are reliable, with trains running every few minutes during peak hours.

    Trams & Buses

    Recommended routes

Trams are a scenic and convenient way to explore Frankfurt, especially for shorter distances. They provide excellent connections between major landmarks, shopping areas, and residential districts. Tram Line 11 is particularly popular for sightseeing. Buses complement the rail network, reaching areas that don’t have U-Bahn or tram service, especially at night when other transport options are limited.
